Do you have nature lovers in your house? I know we do! Children love to get outdoors and explore the world around them any time of the year. From the big to the small, and everything in between, there are so many opportunities for learning and having plain old fun!
Today I’m bringing you an Amazon.com (affiliate links) gift guide to help you find great products for the nature lovers in your home. This is just one of 75+ gift guides from the Kid Blogger Network. You’ll find ALL the links to them on the main guide page.
General Nature Lover’s Gifts
If you’re looking for gifts for your little nature lovers and they don’t yet have an interest in a specific area, there are lots of useful gifts that are great for everyone. I just love when gifts are practical and will be used rather than just sit on a shelf. Sometimes a quality product will cost a little more than a lesser quality product, but when it comes to nature, I like to use real items, not just ‘play’ items when possible so that will last and get my children used to using the real thing. Children will appreciate being treated as an adult and take more pride in their things and developing skills.
Bird Watching Gifts
I’m an amateur bird-watcher myself, and my children have been learning along with me. We can watch out the window to our own back garden, or take a walk down to the shore to see what we can see there. A short drive away or while on the train, we can spot more birds as well. I like this hobby as you don’t need any equipment at all, but as with many hobbies, there are some items that can make it easier to do.
Butterflies and Moths
Kids love watching butterflies during the day, and there are moths out at all hours of the day and night. Some of them are small and ordinary, and others are huge and colourful. They’re a beautiful part of garden wildlife.
Insect Life
As much I don’t enjoy being in the presence of insects, they do live their own interesting lives. I’m hoping that if my children learn more about insects then they won’t be as creeped out about them as I am!

Plant Life
There is such a wide variety of plants that can be found around the world, and even in your own neighbourhood. From cacti to ferns, plants are so diverse. Let’s learn more about them.
Pond Life
There is a whole other world living just below the surface of the water. My children love to go pond dipping with the diversity summer school so much that we bought them their own nets this year so they can do it more often. It’s a fun activity after a picnic.
Sea Life Gifts
The next time you visit the sea, wander out and look into the rock pools. There’s a whole lot of life in them! Turn over a rock, and see what is underneath. It’s fascinating!
Tree Identification
Look up around you as you go for a walk. You’ll see trees of all descriptions. Some will attract nesting birds in the spring and summer, some will provide birds with berries and fruit to eat, and some provide homes for insects or even other small creatures. Which ones are which? Let’s learn more about trees.
