I am just so pleased to introduce you to The Mom Quilt. A collection of over 60 moms (including yours truly) from around the world are sharing their stories of hope in the just-published ebook, The Mom Quilt.
Each Mom has contributed a personal story. Some will make you laugh, and some will make you cry, but every story is filled with hope and encouragement. I am proud to have been a contributor in this project, sharing my story about how having children has given me more confidence and the ability to believe in myself.

Water is a precious resource, and something that we tend to take for granted here on the Emerald Isle where it rains so frequently. Unfortunately, access to clean water isn’t so easy to access for many around the world.
At Mercy House in Kenya, so much time, effort, and expense go into getting fresh water trucked up the mountain for the young women and children who stay at Mercy House. A well on-site would then free up their resources to do more important work.

100% of proceeds from sales of The Mom Quilt (affiliate link) are going towards building a well at Mercy House in Kenya. The goal is to raise $40,000. In just the first 13 hours, $1,000 has already been raised, and I’d love to see the goal reached as soon as possible so that work can get started.
The ebook costs $9.99 (you’ll receive a link to download a PDF). If you’d like to make an additional donation you can simply increase your payment to any amount over the $9.99 price. Every penny extra will go directly towards this project. The book is now also available from Amazon here.
As the funds are raised, the water level in this well will rise, so check back weekly to see how the fundraising is going. As of the end of September, 2015, the well has been fully funded.
It was a combination of efforts, the mom quilt book, and two other fundraisers joined together and it happened. $40,000 was raised in less than 2 months. And lives are being changed.
Drilling is scheduled to start next month. Because of you. Thank you.
For more information about the full funding of this project, please see Beauty Through Imperfection. Paula has lots of great and encouraging information about this project.
Will the project end once the $40,000 goal is met? Not at all. Funds will still be raised and new projects will be developed.
If you would like to receive email updates about how the project is progressing, please subscribe below. You will also be added to a list to receive periodical updates about the project as it moves forward!

I love the name and premise of this book. We’ve been part of a collab book and it’s always nice to hear other’s stories. Good luck reaching the goal.
Crystal McClean says
Thank you for your support. It was a good experience, so much so that I’m now writing a chapter for another collaborative book…watch this space…but in the meantime, enjoy The Mom Quilt!

What a great cause! We have big problems with our water too, so I can empathize with 3rd world countries. <3
Crystal McClean says
Water is something that we tend to take for granted, unfortunately.
I do hope that you are able to find a resolution to your problem soon.
Tamara says
Oh, I’ve heard of Mercy House! I have a Facebook friend that is always promoting it. This is such a great idea too! How did you get involved with the book?
Crystal McClean says
I’m happy to know you’ve heard of it. Participating in this was my first time.
I am in a couple of FB groups with the coordinators and they put out a call to anyone that was interested. That was at the start of July, and it’s already published and raised 10% of the first goal!
It’s an honour to be a part of this effort, and to be able to read about a personal story by each contributor.
Crystal McClean says
Please do, and let me know what you think of the book. I’m still working my way through it a little at a time during ‘me time.’
Crystal McClean says
It’s an honour to be involved in a project like this that really can make a difference.

When I heard about it, it was something that I wanted to participate in. And it brings home the reminder of how fortunate we are.

I love that this book is raising funds for Mercy House. Such a wonderful organization and who doesn’t like buying a gift that gives back? Sounds like a good book for moms. Sharing
Crystal McClean says
Thank you for sharing, Leah!
What better way is there to raise money than by reading?
Sarah says
What a fabulous initiative! Congratulations on the eBook and I hope it spreads awareness for your project. Thanks for linking up to Blogger Brags. I have pinned your post to the Blogger Brags Pinterest board.

Thank you for sharing, Sarah.
Most of the time it feels like one person can’t REALLY make a difference in the world, but it doesn’t actually take very much to make a difference to someone.
Have a good week.
Crystal McClean says
I’d love to hear what you think about it. There are some very personal stories in it.

Please do check it out! It has so many uplifting stories, it’s just the thing to read after a tough day. Enjoy 🙂
