Ravensburger Trolls Puzzle

January 16, 2017 by Crystal McClean

We loved working on our puzzles over the Christmas break, and now that we’re getting back into a groove of homeschooling, I still want my children to have fun.  And since jigsaw puzzles cover math, coordination and patience, Trolls are a nice way to make everyone happy.

I’ve not known Kallista to be crazy about Trolls, but when she saw me looking at this Trolls XXL 100pc Jigsaw Puzzle, her face lit up and she said she really wanted it.  Thus, I replied back to Ravensburger that yes, we would like to review it for them. (This post contains affiliate links).

When the package arrived in the post a few days later, Kallista was eager to open it and get started right away.  We’d just finished packing up our Christmas decorations and giving the house a start on the spring cleaning.  Knowing that a puzzle was on the way was a motivating factor to get her to help tidy up so that she’d have a space clear to work on her puzzle!

The post had arrived just before lunch so we ate and then worked on being patient while completing the day’s schooling.

Then finally….it was time for Kallista to get started on her new puzzle!

Putting the Trolls puzzle together

She opened up the box and the enclosed bag and began to sort the edge pieces from the inside pieces.

Then she started to put the frame together.

Kallista used our Ravensburger Puzzle Handy so she could work on the area rug and stay off the cold floor.  It worked really well.  The 100 piece Trolls puzzle fit nicely in the 500-piece size outline on the board.  Keep this noted for future puzzles!

Kallista was determined to complete her puzzle the same day.  Howevr, it was a busy afternoon and evening so she didn’t get it done by the time I left for my meeting and she had other plans with Tristan and Daddy.

So.

First thing the next morning after the kids ate breakfast with Phil before he went to work, Kallista wound her way to the front room and finished the puzzle before I could even get the sleep from my eyes and finish a cup of tea!

The colours are nice and bright and cheerful, the trolls are happy, and have little looks of mischievousness on their faces.

Kallista says,

I love it, and it’s the perfect size!

Kallista is now looking forward to completing it all again and has set herself a challenge to finish it in less time.

Puzzles are great for kids, and even more so in the winter months when outdoor weather can be miserable, and in some cases, not safe.  This one in particular would be great to brighten up a daycare, nursery school, and for childminders to keep their activities fresh and educational as well as fun.  Keep Trolls in mind for upcoming birthdays and parties and you’ll have a group of smiling kids working happily away at it.

Trolls XXL 100pc Jigsaw Puzzle is available through fine retail stores and Amazon.co.uk.

The Ravensburger Puzzle Handy is also available from Amazon.co.uk and retail outlets.
