Raspberry Banana Smoothie

February 2, 2016 by Crystal McClean

Last year the children made cute little Valentine’s straw cozies, which they love to use.  This year I thought it would be nice to share our recipe for this delicious raspberry banana smoothie (which can also be made dairy-free) that goes so well with the decorated straws.

Make a healthy raspberry banana smoothie for your loved ones. Recipe by Castle View Academy

This raspberry banana smoothie is a hit with kids as a special treat, when they aren’t feeling well, or during the heat of summer.  Full of healthy ingredients, I can feel safe knowing that my children are having something special to them, but it’s not a worry on my conscience in regards to their health.

Ingredients

  • A handful of raspberries
  • 1/2 a banana
  • 1/2 – 1/2 Cup yoghurt
  • 1/4 – 1/2 Cup Milk

Throw all of the ingredients and a blender and whiz util you get the desired consistency.

My son has a dairy allergy so we substitute with soya milk and yoghurt.  You can adjust the ingredients as your tastes dictate.  If it isn’t sweet enough for your sweet tooth, you can add in a drop of honey.

Then find a comfy place to sit, relax, and enjoy!  And if you’re interested in the delicious cookies you see in the photo, you can find our recipe for these cinnamon shortbread cookies here.
