Winter is setting in many places. We may not have snow, but we certainly are feeling the wintry conditions with wind and rain warnings, and tidal surge warnings last weekend. I hope you’re able to get out and enjoy whatever kind of weather you are currently having (don’t I wish for the Australian summers at the moment!). Last week there were almost 100 ideas linked up, and I’m sure as we all get back into the swing of routines that this will increase over the next few weeks. With my mind on the weather, this week I’m featuring learning about snow activities.
Check out last week’s Mom’s Library feature tree and plant activities as well as many other awesome ideas!
Learning About Snow
NOVA Frugal Family share several picture books about winter, as well as few activities to go along with the theme of snow.
If you’re in an area where there is a lot of snowfall predicted, you may want to try to make your own snow cream like This Sweet Life has made!
Every Star is Different has a winter unit about Antarctica that encompasses a lot of math and science ideas as well as lots of fun.

We have almost three feet of snow in our yard. We made lots of snow ice cream that last few days! So fun and kids love it.

I’ve never had snow ice cream, but if I’m ever back home again in the winter, we certainly will try it!
