A couple of weeks back I received a 4 fl. oz. bottle of GREEMU in the post. We’re always excited when the postman brings a package, and I’d been waiting for this. I’m not ‘into’ beauty products and all the latest fads, but I was interested in trying out something new.
Now that I’m in that ‘over 40’ age bracket, I’ve been noticing the crow’s feet starting to make themselves at home, along with some new grey hair. I don’t want to admit it, but I can’t turn back time and I’d like to look as good as I can for my children and husband. And of course, if I feel good about myself, that will show through to others as well.
What is GREEMU?
Greemu is Devonian’s answer to emu oil, but without using any animal products in its ingredients. There are only five ingredients:
- Macadamia seed oil
- Palm oil (with organic certification)
- Shea butter
- Sunflower seed oil
- Rice bran oil
These are all recognizable and pronounceable ingredients. Many people don’t want anything on their body that they wouldn’t put in their mouth. And this fits the bill, although it is for external use only.
Each of these ingredients is known to have positive benefits for the body, and by combining them, it’s a bit like having a superfood for your face.
Devonian spent two years researching the qualities of emu oil, and developed their own formula that emulates emu oil. Each bottle comes with a little card specific to each batch produced that will give you the certificate of analysis of the various lipids and the percentages for this batch against the standard.
How Did We Use GREEMU?
I have been using GREEMU on my face as a moisturiser. A little goes a long way, so the bottle will last a good while. It goes on smooth and evenly. It absorbs in quickly after only a couple of minutes and actually doesn’t give my an ‘oily’ look. If I decide that I want to wear make up (I don’t often do this), it just goes on right over top and makes a nice smooth base for it, this must be it doing its job to smooth out my wrinkles.
After using GREEMU for a few days I did break out, but I wonder if this is just my body purging itself of toxins. I know this can happen with some natural oils, so I’ll continue to use it for a little longer and see how it goes.
Kallista has been using GREEMU as well as her cheeks have been so dry lately. I rub a little on her at bedtime so it can soak in during the night. She says it stings her a little, but she stills wants to use it. She feels like a young lady using a beauty product, and I feel better about it being a natural product. However, it appears as if her cheeks are actually becoming more dry and chapped since using this product.
GREEMU can also be used on the scalp and hair, but we haven’t needed to use it in this way.
Overall, I haven’t quite made my mind up on GREEMU yet due to the negatives mentioned above, but given a little more time, these may work themselves out. I do like the natural ingredients, the way it feels on my face, and the price.
