I’m so happy to have Carolyn Wilhelm, of the Wise Owl Factory here! She’s has very kindly created a special editable and printable French calendar for you! Be sure to fly over and spend some time on her site, which is jam-packed with printable lessons and activities!
This post has a free instant download for an editable calendar in French. It is for April 2019 through August 2020. Please note that the days of the week do begin on Sunday, rather than Monday. Click on the next link for your copy.
Here is a sample of how the calendar may be used when the teacher or parent types in the information. Special days like art day, physical education day, music day, school assemblies, and assignments may be added to the calendar.
Of course, the information may be also be entered in French.
It is best to save the PDF with the name of the month so there is always a clean copy, the first file downloaded. Only fill out months needed, and only print the months that apply to your setting.
If nothing is typed in a blue square, nothing will print. For instance, when printing on white paper, the unused squares will print in white. The color of the empty squares depends on the color of the paper being used in the printer.
The calendars are all black and white, but your students (or you) can have some fun colouring the images above the calendar.
One option is to provide each student with a blank printed calendar for the children to enter their own information. The is in the case of differentiated homework or schedules. I used to have children color all the art days one color, for instance, red. Then all the libraries days were colored in yellow. The reason for the color coding was to make the calendar easier to understand for first graders who were still emergent readers.
Student participation in helping create the calendars also helps students understand their own schedules and responsibilities, as well. A combination of teacher typing and student color coding might also be useful in some situations.
For the non-numbered days in the calendar, class information may be added such as, “Remember to sign up for conferences next month.” Or perhaps the class has a service project and several reminders are required during the school year. Teacher email or other contact information may be typed in the extra spaces, as well, to encourage parent communication.
For homeschooling families, these extra spaces could be used for reminders of upcoming field trips, special projects, or words of encouragement.
You might also like the editable English calendar available.
We hope you will enjoy using these calendars!
