Chinese New Year

January 22, 2014 by Crystal McClean

We’re back into finding a new routine for ourselves since Christmas with homeschooling.  With a couple of new online products we’ve had to juggle the use of the pc a little between me and the children during the day, but we’re still finding time for reading and crafts!  With the dreary grey rain, it’s the perfect time to make colourful Chinese New Year Crafts and read children’s stories from China.  This makes the Chinese New Year my feature this week!

What Do We Do All Day? shares several Chinese Folktale books.  These are new ones to me, and I’ll be looking to see if I can find them in our library this week.

And we’ve made some chopstick covers and horse finger puppets for our table.

We love to learn about cultures, and hands-on is the best way to understand and retain the information, I think. I love seeing the ideas that people share with Mom’s Library. Please drop by again soon!
