Canada Day is quickly approaching! What will you be doing to celebrate? Here are a couple of things we have done with the kids:

This handprint Canadian Flag is quick and makes a great keepsake.
These cute little cardboard roll Canadian Mounties take a little longer but are full of character.
These Maple Syrup Cookies drip with Canadianism, and are easy to make ahead. You can also freeze them for later sharing at a picnic.
Whatever you do this year, and wherever you may be, have a very happy CANADA DAY from our family to yours!

What a great collection of ideas to celebrate Canada Day! I must admit that being from the US, Canada Day hasn’t really been on my radar, but the maple cookies are persuading me that we really need to celebrate next year!! Thanks for sharing at the Culture Swapper!

Thank you for stopping by, Leanna 🙂 I know the USA has much bigger celebrations for the 4th, but ours aren’t too bad, either. We didn’t do too much this year for Canada Day, but next year we’ll make it special for the kids.

What wonderful ideas!! I just pinned them to remember when we do Canada for Around the World in 12 Dishes. Thank you for sharing at Sharing Saturday!

Thank you for sharing our ideas 🙂 We started our own informal eating around the world last year, but we’ve taken a bit of a break, we must get back to it!

I love the flag made with the hand print! Very clever. We do turkeys with hand prints down here in the U.S.A for thanksgiving.
Crystal McClean says
I love the turkey prints, I did that in school in Canada, too! Last year my children tried it here I think we will do it again this year, I never grew tired of them 🙂

My co-worker (from Canada) was just telling me Canada Day was coming up. Maybe we’ll make her some of those delicious cookies!

I’m not Canadian but we love Maple Cookies. I can’t get them where I live but my brother who lives in London, Ontario sends them for us and they never last. We’ll be visiting for Christmas and we can’t wait to load up our luggage with them. 🙂 Those are some really fun projects for the kids.

Those maple-leaf shaped maple creams are my favourite! I must see if I can find a similar recipe some day, but in the meantime we’ll have to ‘make due’ with these!
If there’s a ‘Dollarama’ in London, their brand are just as good as the ‘original’ brand in my opinion, and then you can afford more for your luggage!

Love the handprint Canadian flag!

Thank you. It’s fun to do each year to see the size of the prints change.
