Bone Yard Breadsticks

October 26, 2012 by Crystal McClean

These delicious Bone Yard Breadsticks are a great Halloween snack for the kids that is fun to make and healthy, too!  Simply serve it up with an imaginative dip (salsa, humus, etc) and your little gouls and gobblins will be asking for more!

Bone yard Breadsticks for Halloween, a healthy alternative!

To turn this recipe into something spooktacular for Halloween, or maybe if you are learning about the skeletal system try this.

Don’t roll out the dough pieces as thin, and add little in-dents into the ends of them to make them into bones.

I would suggest that you should exaggerate the indents (a little more than I did) as they disappear a little when they rise during baking.

These taste great, and it’s good to know exactly what is in your food.  These aren’t filled with preservatives, flavour enhancers, etc.

And hands of all sizes can help to roll the dough into little sausages or worms, or whatever their little minds think of. Enjoy!

If you like to make bread, have you tried bannock or soda bread? If you’re in the mood for Halloween activities, try these sun catchers, or skeletons in a closet. Having a party?  Try our Snot Shot coordination game!  Check out our pages on healthy snacks  or Halloween Ideas for more inspiration!

They’re so good 🙂 We haven’t made breadsticks in a while, ’tis the season with the cooler weather settling in!

That looks like so much fun! I’ve never made my own breadsticks before, but this actually looks pretty easy. Thanks for stopping by Family Fridays!!!!

They are quite easy, they just take a little time, like all things good. But they are soooo nice, and easy to change the flavours 🙂 Give them a try!
