The Greatest Showman
Our family watched this together over the summer, and it was my daughter’s second time watching it; having already seen it with her Grandma and cousin. I like shows based on reality, which this is, and although I’m not usually a fan of musicals, this one was very good. Find out the trials and tribulations through which P. T. Barnum went through on his way to build a small circus into a world-wide name.
The Favourite
With the interest in the current monarch that’s spawned a series, The Favourite goes back in time to the 1800s to tell a little about the life of Queen Anne and those close to her. There are vastly differing opinions about this movie – what do you think of it?
Bohemian Rhapsody
For those music-loving mums, why not watch Bohemian Rhapsody and follow Freddie Mercury and Queen through their successes, as well as their darker times. This movie has been on my date night to-watch list for a while.
Murder on the Orient Express
Based on the book by Agatha Christie and with an all-star cast comprising of Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe and Judi Dench, Murder on the Orient Express is a who-done-it murder mystery.
The Duchess
Going back in time once again, The Duchess is a period piece featuring Keira Knightley as the Duchess of Devonshire and Ralph Fiennes as the Duke. I haven’t yet seen this movie, but I look forward to admiring the sets, the costumes, and the soundtrack.
