APPLE CANDY CANE SNACK

December 13, 2012 by Crystal McClean

We saw a photo of this apple candy cane snack on the Internet last year, but I don’t recall where to send the credit, but it looked so delicious and healthy the kids wanted me to make it!

All you need is an apple, an orange, a banana, and a knife.

Slice the apple into segments, or if your children are old enough, let them do the slicing.  Bananas are easy enough to slice with a butter knife for toddlers.  Peel and segment the orange.

Arrange the slices into a candy cane shape while alternating the fruits.

Voila, a juicy snack is served!

You could do this with many other fruits or vegetables for a fun way to introduce children to new foods.  You could serve a caramel or other dip with them to up the wow factor as well..

Tristan just saw this blog photo and wants to make this so it’s off to the shops I go for more fresh fruit!

If you’d like something a little more ‘naughty’ to eat, try our macaroons or caramel popcorn.  If crafts are more your thing, don’t miss our felt trees, or cardboard cone trees.
