Are you on Pinterest? Crystal’s Tiny Treasures has been there for a little while and I was thinking about how I could grow my following when Melissa Taylor announced that she was updating and relaunching her book, Pinterest Savvy: Strategies, Plans, and Tips To Grow Your Business With Pinterest. She’s a top influencer on Pinterest and has over 1.4 million followers, and I wanted to know her secrets. The timing was perfect. In exchange for my honest opinions about her book, I received a free copy.
Pinterest Savvy is an easy read and Melissa gives plenty of examples as she works through her strategies with us. It only took me an evening or two to read through it while enjoying a cup of tea. It has a very logical flow, starting with the basics and slowly the challenges increase in complexity.
You will also learn some top Pinterest tips from popular blogger Amy at Living Locurto and the social media team at PBS.
The free chapter guide worksheets are invaluable, and I wouldn’t want to be without them! After reading Pinterest Savvy, I printed out the chapter guides and began to check off the items that I already had completed for my Pinterest account. It was a satisfying process to see what I had already accomplished. I was then able to sit down again with the book and the worksheets and begin improving my Pinterest account and pinning strategies.
By having the chapter guide worksheets, it means that you don’t just read the book and forget about it; they give you motivation to return again and again to Pinterest Savvy and chart your progress through it at your own pace.
Three weeks after first reading Pinterest Savvy, I have already increased my followers by 15%!. Melissa said that there seems to be a 3,000 threshold, after which growth becomes faster. So I’m not despairing as my growth though slow, is steady and I’m now seeing new followers each day instead of maybe once a week.
After reading Pinterest Savvy I’m now thinking more about strategy; both with simple pinning, as well as on visual displays, marketing, etc. I still have lots to work on as making some of the changes does take some time. This book has given me a kick-start and motivation to work more with Pinterest a little each day. I’m no longer flying by the seat of my pants and frustrated with my lack of understanding and non-existent growth.
I am starting to see progress already, as I am checking off each item on the chapter guides I feel like I’m a step closer to my personal Pinterest goal. Drop by and follow me and watch my progress as I work my way through to complete the book. To see how it’s supposed to be done, follow Melissa Taylor on Pinterest.
